13. On your pattern layer simply click to fill it with the pattern. You will need to move this layer down below the ‘E’ layer so that the ‘E’ is visible (once we give it a different color than black).
14. Next go into free transform mode (CTRL+T) and rotate the pattern layer to get a desired angle. Press enter to apply the transformation. I hid the ‘E’ layer to make this more visible.
15. Next select the crop tool (C) and crop within the angled parttern. This will end up being the size of the logo.

17. Now we are going to give the ‘E’ an angle. For this layer, go into free transform mode and rotate it so it looks something like this:
