18. Now select your background layer (your bottommost layer) and select the gradient tool (G). Make your foreground color #0c1325 and your background color #24478d.

19. Going from bottom to top, draw a gradient line while holding shift (to make it straight) to make your gradient. Make sure to do it on your background layer (I named it ‘gradient’).

20. Now go back to your pattern layer and go to filter>blur>gaussian blur. Give it a value of around .5 pixels.

21. Next go into blending options for your ‘E’ layer. If your ‘E’ layer is below your pattern layer (like shown here) move it to the top.
