20. This is what my layers palette looks like.

21. Now we get to use color range again ;) When selecting a point, select an area of dark clouds, like shown.

22. This is what your selection should look like.

23. Next hit delete on your keyboard to delete the area within the selection and here is what you should get.

24. Next for the cool part. With your cloud layer still active hit CTRL+ALT+G to make it a clipping layer. Your layer should look like this.

25. And your image should look like this. I then lowered the cloud layer opacity to around 75%. This is what you should get! What is cool is that you can move around the cloud layer until you get a desired cloud effect.

This is a pretty awesome tutorial, I really like the result. Unfortunately I have been unable to reproduce it. i tried it loads of times but the colour never match or anything, particularly with land sponge effect. Are there any other things you did and didn’t mention in the tutorial?

Yup Sniperslayr, you’re completely correct. I seem to have made more than 1 writing mistake for this tutorial :???:

I changed step 1 and 5, so hopefully everything should be good now. Thanks for pointing this out.

    cool thanks, one question though

What resolution (size) and dpi, did you use.
I’m asking because the brush size you use on the filter effect, vary, depending on this.

Also just to clarify what changes did you make?
    thanks :D

cool I just finished my version, it looks really awesome, i’ll post a link later, the only thing I don’t like about it is that the circle isn’t round its got corners :S. Thanks for amazing tutorial :D

    Sniperslayr,

    I believe I used an 800×600 document size at 72 pixels/inch.

I corrected the foreground/background colors in step 1 and the filter name in step 5

And make sure to round it out as much as you can. Use a large circle behind it for guidance if need be =)

Glad you like the tutorial, let me know if you have a tutorial idea for me to do in the future.
